Week 10 Good afternoon sisters and brothers: Another week has come and gone, and we’re in the throws of preparing to take next steps. That said, none of us know precisely what the next step will look like. In any case, please know that your church council and executive, along with the staff, are working hard to continue to minister to the needs of our congregation and community, and to make the best possible decisions related to re-opening of our sanctuary and campus. You are in our prayers! We have staff meetings twice weekly, where specific pastoral care issues can be brought forward, and managed appropriately. At these staff meetings we seek to do the best we can to provide meaningful worship experiences, along with devotions and bible study. I hope you’ll join us when you can! One of the exciting “new” things we’ve done, is to concretize our help for Interfaith Community Services Food Pantry. Through your wonderful support, and in conjunction with the Local Mission Committee, we recently dispersed $5,000.00 for food for the pantry there, in attempt to begin to help to feed the hundreds of families who’ve now found themselves in need. Additionally, all of you have been invited to do your part as best you’re able, by bringing food and other essential donations to the church on Tuesday and Friday mornings between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00 am. Please come to the front parking lot, and there will be a volunteer to transfer for you if you wish, the gifts into their vehicles. All the gifts will be delivered to Interfaith on the day it is received. Below, you will see Interfaith’s listing of most needed items:
We want to thank everyone for their generosity and for the contributions made to help us to support the critical work of Interfaith Community Services in the feeding of our friends and neighbors in need at this time of crisis. Below are pictures of how generous you’ve been. Thank you ILC!
We encourage your continued support of our COVID Relief Fund (on our website), thus enabling us to reach out with God’s love in practical ways to those in need. You are being a wonderful blessing, and I am so grateful to you for your generosity. Thank you.
Another new thing.... Starting next week, we’re going to be introducing “To Start Your Day”, a daily Bible reading and prayer to start your day in faithful meditation. We hope this will be helpful to one and all. An email will be scheduled to go out at 6 am and the video will be available immediately. Please check it out!
I hope you’ve been able to stay connected with us and with each other in the opportunities we have through ILC. Many of these are centrally located on our website ( https://www.godamong.us ), and are linked to many different social media sites including Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/incarnation.lutheran ), Twitter (https://www.twitter.com/ilcservants ), and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/ilcservants ). Others will be found by Zoom invitation that you’ll see in a weekly newsletter like this one.
Monday to Saturday, “To Start Your Day,” you can click on the link you’ll find in an email that will be sent you at 6 am. There you’ll hear a brief Bible reading and prayer.
Monday to Saturday, we’ll be continuing our evening devotions at 7 pm. It can be found on our website, but is also linked to all the related social media sites.
On Tuesday and Friday afternoon at 2 pm, take a moment to “Check In with Pr. Tim”. Please click here:

Wednesday evenings at 7:20 pm, we’ll be continuing our evening Bible/Book study on N.T. Wright’s book, “Surprised by Hope”. I hope you’ll join us for a brief video followed by conversation on the subject we’ll be covering. Some have asked where they can begin to look at the book related to the material covered in the video presentations. It seems that Wright is bouncing around a fair bit, but I would guess that if you can read from pp. 31-120, you’d have most of it. Worship is held on Sunday at 10 am, and incorporates as many of the elements of our worship life as we can virtually, and we sure hope you’ll join. Again located on our website, it premiers there and on YouTube.com, ( https://www.youtube.com/ilcservants ) with links to the other social media sites at 10. We really hope to see you there.
Beyond this, we have a variety of other meetings that take place virtually, and about which you can find further information on our website.
In this time of ongoing uncertainty, please do take care of yourself. Remember, that we need not be fearful in our living through of this time, for God is with us. Always. Live well, live happily and most of all, live hopefully. Living lives of loving service to God’s children is an excellent way to promote spiritual growth. That said, if you have a need, please reach out to us at the church, your church. We’re here for you.
God bless you now and always!
- After worship, around 11 am, Darrell and Nancy Datte host our after worship coffee/donut fellowship time (BYOC/D) on Zoom, and look forward to welcoming everyone in our community. Please think about joining in and saying hi to your brothers and sisters. That gathering can be found here:
