Good afternoon sisters and brothers.
Things are starting to change. Life is beginning to show some of the signs we’re accustomed to...not entirely as before, but at least a bit. Some are fearful that these changes are taking place way too quickly, and others are of the opinion that we should by now be back to normal. Irrespective of your political perspective on the matter, the fact remains, we are living through this together.
The church has been at work, attending to the spiritual welfare of our community, both near and far. We are celebrating the success that we’ve had thus far in so doing, but recognize that in the technical part of much of these, we are all learners. But we’re learning well, and I think it’s fair to say, we may well be getting the hang of this.
Our council executive has decided that the earliest we can consider opening is July 5, 2020. This is to allow us time to make the myriad of preparations that will be necessary for us to open according to the legal requisites before us. (It is easy enough to list what is needed, but a more challenging matter to actually acquire it...). So we’re working on the logistics, and when the medical experts in our midst give us the go ahead, and in concert with state and county permissions, we will be making further announcements about what opening will look like.
It is our hope that in the face of the tumultuous events in our country and around the world, you can find peace in the proactive love of neighbor that is a mark of being a child of God. You remain in our prayers, and I hope you know that we are but a phone call (or text, or email) away in the event of any need. God bless you now as always.
- After worship, around 11 am, Darrell and Nancy Datte host our after worship coffee/donut fellowship time (BYOC/D) on Zoom, and look forward to welcoming everyone in our community. Please think about joining in and saying hi to your brothers and sisters. That gathering can be found here:
