ILC Letter To The Congregation - December 23rd, 2021

Love Intentionally

Love Inclusively

Love Universally

Love Completely

Love Everyone, always

Love Better!

The 23rd Day of December, in the year of our Lord, 2021.

Sisters and brothers in Christ:

Merry Christmas! For those of you accustomed to reading my messages in the past couple of years, you will note that I am not prefacing this one with any sort of calculation of how long we’ve been in “COVID” mode. I think I am going to let that go now. It isn’t really helpful anymore, and tends to make us think of how long we’ve been trapped, burdened by the strictures imposed upon us by the rigors of the pandemic. Indeed, the one thing that this season reminds us, is that our time is actually God’s time, and that God is good to God’s word. And now, we celebrate God’s goodness. For these days are all “in the year of our Lord!”

We are hoping to see many of you in worship in the days to come….we have our Christmas Eve service at 5 pm tomorrow (Friday), our Christmas Day service at 10 am Saturday, and our Sunday service will be a single service at 10 am. A couple of practical reminders: 1) as of December 5, state regulation now requires that everyone indoors is masked, regardless of vaccination status; & 2) for all folks attending the Christmas Eve worship service (tomorrow at 5 pm), we would respectfully ask that if you are able-bodied, please park in the lower levels, so that those with physical challenges will have access to the spots in the upper lots.

On behalf of the staff of Incarnation Lutheran Church, I want to wish one and all a Blessed Christmas Season, with the very best wishes for the New Year, 2022. This year has been a challenge, to be sure, but God has been faithful. Let’s celebrate God’s faithfulness and love for us by remembering always, that this time, however much we want it to be about us, is in fact, the year of our Lord! God promised, and God delivered on God’s promise! Jesus is here! Now! Always!

Merry Christmas!!

Pr. Luther
