Partnership in Cameroon with

Foyer de l'Esperance

Imagine being a young girl and living on the streets in a third world country surviving by your wits and being forced to give your body in order to have a safe place to sleep. This is the plight for many girls around the world.

Incarnation Lutheran Church is partnering with a project of the Jesuit community in Cameroon, the Foyer de l’Esperance in Yaounde, Cameroon to change the plight of street girls. For 5 years Caroline Adjimi, a native of Cameroon, was a part of the Incarnation community while she earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Work in the US. With financial support from Incarnation, she has returned to her native Cameroon and is currently working as a social worker in conjunction with the nuns who run this center.

At Foyer de l’Esperance the girls have an opportunity to learn personal and vocational skills, receive schooling, and counseling sessions. The program is currently a day program, but would like to expand to an overnight program so the girls have a safe place at night.

Please prayerfully consider making a donation to support this project and our social worker, Caroline.
