Summer Mission Trips PDF Print E-mail
Youth

Summer 2010 mission trips are completed.  Some youth spent time in Cameroon, Africa.  Many middle and high school youth spent a week at DOOR (Discovering Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection) in Hollywood, CA.  Please "Read More" for reflections and photos...

"See the face of God in the city."
This was our goal for the week we spent in Hollywood.  We saw God in the faces of those in need.  We saw God in the faces of those called to serve them.  We felt God's presence as we worked side-by-side to try to make a difference for the 90,000 homeless in Los Angeles.  We learned that each homeless person has a story that needs to be heard and a hand that needs to be held. We now understand Christ's call for each of us to reach out and wash the feet of others in humble service.  There is no simple or logical solution for homelessness.  And now that we have seen it, worked in it, and lived it, we will continue to reach out our hand to those in need eager to help or maybe just to offer a smile.  We are looking forward to what we can do next summer.  Thanks to all who supported us with gifts and prayers.
