Like to garden? Is your yard or garden an expression of joy in God’s creation? A short-term gardening group is being offered!
As Christians we believe that the world is beloved by God and we are given the responsibility to take care of it. As partners in creation, we use our time, talents, and resources to take care of our environment – people, plants, and wildlife. In so doing we proclaim the glory of God and do our best to manage wisely the gifts God provides to us in our lives.
How do we continue to enjoy the beauty and abundance nature provides to us without overuse of water, one of our most vital resources? Many of us have been conscientious with our use of water and now need to find ways to conserve even more. Caring for God’s earth and managing our resources wisely in a drought forces us to shift our thinking and requires a new paradigm. Beginning Friday, February 5 at 6:00 PM, we will host a series of 6 informal evenings with expert speakers who will inform us on topics such as sustainable gardening, planting with California native plants, irrigation strategies for conserving water, and programs for assisting us in making these shifts in our thinking about how we landscape and use water. A variety of speakers have been invited who will present a brief introduction of their area of expertise, followed by discussion and questions. Devotions will be included in each session.
Sessions will be held Feb 5 and 19, March 5 and 19, April 9 and 23 in the Parish Hall and are presented free of charge, but advance sign-ups are encouraged. Plan to attend, to listen, learn, and share ideas for managing as wise stewards our resources in our homes. For more information or to sign-up, e-mail
