© 2011 Incarnation Lutheran Church
Incarnation Lutheran has a long history of excellent music expressed though vibrant choirs and congregational singing, dynamic contemporary musicians and skilled soloists. A hallmark of our ministry is the frequent integration of musicians of all ages, from young children through seniors. New members are always welcome to participate in LCI's music. You need not be an experienced musician; you just need the desire to learn and he love of music.
Incarnation is host to numerous concerts officered by professional, community, and student organizations. Both our choir and soloists join together with these community groups to provide engaging, artistic concerts.
The Liturgical Choir
This choir, open to older teens and adults rehearses September –June on Thursdays from 7:00-9:00. Great choral music from the Renaissance to the present makes up the choir’s repertoire. The choir sings for the 8:30 service, for special seasonal services and gives concerts both at church and the area. Contact Kimberly Bedell for more information.
Youth and Children's Choirs and Music
Incarnation’s children’s and youth choirs meet on Sundays while school is in session and are open to all children and youth from 4 years through high school. In addition to singing for Sunday services, the choirs give concerts and special presentations through the year. We also offer music education to children and youth during Sunday School and at the Incarnation Lutheran Preschool.
Our praise team leads the music for our contemporary-style worship held at 11:00. The ensemble rehearses Saturday afternoons. Contact Scott Steller for more information.
Short Term ensembles and small groups
For special occasions through the year, we have instrumental ensembles, small choirs and bell groups which present music for any of our worship services. Contact Kimberly Bedell for more information
Young organists on the bench
In addition to encouraging our own young organists to play for church, Incarnation participates in the San Diego Chapter of the American Guild of Organists’ program that allows high school and middle school organists to come and play preludes, postludes and/or hymns.
LCI has 2 Yamaha baby grand pianos and a Yamaha digital piano for worship and rehearsals. Our two manual pipe organ was built by Portland organ builder Richard Bond in 1987.
